My List of Useful Things We Will Need:
- Clothes in staggered sizes. Kimono-style shirts or onesies are preferred.
- Diapers in all sizes.
- Environmentally friendly clothes, diapers, toys, etc.
- Humidifier for those dry, Santa Ana wind-driven nights.
- Kangaroo sling that has great weight distribution and keeps my baby close and warm. It frees up my hands.
- Newborn-size diapers that have indicator stripes when soiled.
- Receiving blankets.
- Terry bibs that soak up dribbly messes.
- Travel crib that will be stationed next to my bed for nighttime feedings.
Not So Useful Things:
- Bottle warmer that have the reputation of never getting the temperature right.
- Clothes - too many newborn-size clothes will be quickly outgrown, usually within a month.
- Clothes that snap shut from the back and not the front or bottom.
